Aspis Receives Finalist Nod for the Top LGBTBE at the Mid-America LGBT Business of Pride Awards

The Aspis team is proud to announce that we were recognized as a top-three finalist for Certified LGBT Business Enterprise (LGBTBE) of the Year at the Mid-America LGBT Chamber of Commerce Business of Pride Awards. Aspis, which celebrated its third anniversary on June 16th, is honored to be selected as a top-three finalist for this prestigious award. Founder Jeff Wagner stated, “The selection committee’s recognition of our 2021 achievements is a testament to the hard work of all our employees. I’m honored that we were named among some of the most recognizable certified LGBTBEs in Kansas City.” Aspis was named a top-three finalist at the beginning of June alongside Dutzel’s Catering and Listening To Change.

Other categories of awards included The Rainbow Award for contributions to the Kansas City LGBT community, Non-profit of the Year, Non-Certified LGBT-Owned Business of the Year, Corporate Partner of the Year, and Ally Business of the Year. “We are personal friends with the Dutzels and couldn’t think of a more deserving business. Jeff Dutzel has built a highly respected business and demonstrates his values every day in its operation.” Additionally, the Aspis team wants to give the biggest congratulations to Dutzel’s for winning the LGBT Business Enterprise of the year.

What are the Business Pride Awards?

The Business Pride Awards is the MId-America LGBT Chamber’s biggest night of the year! This enjoyable and important event gives members the opportunity to join community leaders and other business professionals to celebrate the work to advance economic equity across the Kansas City Metro and the Midwest. Additionally, the evening gives the MId-America LGBT Chamber of Commerce the opportunity to recognize member businesses, corporations, non-profits, and individuals who have shown extraordinary leadership in the business equality movement.

Why your Business Should Become LGBTBE Certified

By becoming a certified LGBTBE, businesses can build relationships with America’s leading corporations, generate prospective business and clients, and collectively team with each other for contracting opportunities. As corporate America becomes more inclusive and further diversifies its supply chain, certification offers the opportunity for LGBT-owned businesses to differentiate themselves from their competitors.
