Recently, Aspis was nominated for one of the US Chamber of Commerce Dream Big Awards in the category of the Emerging Business Award. You may have read about us being chosen as a finalist in a recent blog (which can be found here). The US Chamber of Commerce dream big awards had an award ceremony on October 21st to unveil the winners. Unfortunately, Aspis was not chosen as the emerging business winner and the award was given to another fantastic company. While we may not have won our team is honored to have been chosen as one of 3 finalists to be nominated for this award. This was an incredible honor and cemented a great year for our company. It is a huge deal to be recognized by the US Chamber of Commerce especially! Not bad for a 2-year-old cybersecurity company based out of Kansas City!
What Are the Dream Big Awards?
The Dream Big Awards are given out every year in support of small businesses around the country. Each year, the US Chamber of Commerce recognizes award winners in 9 different categories. These categories include Green business, minority-owned, LGBTQ-owned, Veteran owned, Women-owned, small business of the year, community support, and lastly the Emerging business award. These 9 categories brought in businesses of all industries fighting head to head to be named the winner. In 2021 over 1000 businesses applied for these awards. The US Chamber brought in a team of entrepreneurs, visionaries, and business execs in order to narrow it down to 27 businesses across the US. Furthermore to be one of 27 companies chosen as finalists across the United States is quite an honor.
The Emerging Business Award
The Emerging Business Award recognizes a start-up company that has attained outstanding business achievement with fewer than 25 employees and 1-3 years of full-time operation. With over 1000 applicants our team was ecstatic to hear that we had been chosen as one of the finalists. Aspis has grown substantially in the last two years. We have jumped from 1 employee to over 12 employees today.
